Siebert Optics has been making universal camera adapters for almost 2 years. But new ground has been broken by this new adapter. If you have a 2" diagonal or focuser you can use any 2" or 1.25" eyepiece for various types of photography including direct imaging without an eyepiece.

The way the adapter is designed is it has a 2" id outer ring that you insert your 2" eyepiece through. The ring is only 12mm's tall. This allows you to use your 2" eyepieces for a much wider unvignetted fov. Also this adapter can be used with 1.25" eyepieces as well with the special step-down adapter provided. The 2" ring fits over the step-down adapter and the holddowns lock into an indented ring that surrounds the outer diameter of the step-down. The nylon holddowns allow you to rotate your work without affecting your setup or loosening your diagonal. The step-down has a self-centering 1.25" eyepiece holder that does not require a holddown since it is friction fit. This adapter gives you free range of height adjustment to adjust eyepiece's eye relief for wider illuminated areas. This unit is all aluminum and uses optical bench quality rods and holders with knurled thumb holddowns. This means that the adapter stays where you tighten it down and will not shift. 

One more thing. It also has a return to position cradle (Illustrated on the 1.25 model below.) This means that you can unlock your camera and move it out of the way. Look thought your eyepiece to make adjustments, (focus, centering etc.) and when you are done move it back into the exact position instantly with no guess work.      

Strict 1.25" format eyepiece holders are available for 1.25" diagonals as an option.
