The Black Knight Echelon series
35mm and new VP 40mm CA bottoms and 1.25" eyepieces holder Binoviewers. The first of their kind and part of the Echelon series of binoviewers. Its hard to beat a Black Knight . Nicely Machined and Anodized. Mirror based 10th Wave dielectric optics
35mm and new 40mm Clear Apertures are by far the biggest Binoviewers in the 1.25" format. Also very light at 1.2 lbs Making them the lightest 1.25" bino with few exceptions. Nothing comes close ( Except the Elite 2" series.) (Click Here) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 35mm and 40mm diagonal Modification. This mode is an extra $150 and makes the Echelon and Elite binoviewers interchangeable with a 2" diagonal eyepiece holder Or AP Baader Diagonal with it's T-2 system. The 2" nose piece threads in place for normal use in a dob or unmodified diagonal.
Eye spacing from 45mm-83mm gives it the greatest Interpupilary range of any binoviewer on the market. Click on pictures to enlarge
You WILL get much better total illumination with a 35mm CA. To compare to other Units. (Click Here) And the New VP 40mm specs are better yet and will be added later. Details at the bottom of this page.

Picture will be coming soon. This is the
The VP will come in either Prisms or optional all mirror .Both will be based on a 40mm beam splitter with a lower CA of 40mm. Optical path in the prism based units will be around 130mm giving it by far the best "CA vs OP" ratio of any binoviewer on the market. The closest being AP Baader 28mm CA and 114mm OP. This means in an SCT with the VP you will get 100% illumination out to a 28mm field stop ((((which is a slight overkill since the largest 1.25" eyepieces being 27mm)))) vs. Baader's 16mm full Illumination at the field stop. How about at f-5 the Baader gives a 100% Dia spot of Illumination of 4mm. The VP having a 100% Dia spot of 12mm min or 3x. Other binoviewers on the market would be far less even then Baader. The prisms are dielectric as is the beam splitter. The units will have free Self Centering Diopters on both sides. The 40mm CA at the bottom will make it necessary to have 2" base although having 1.25" eyepieces holders. It will be lighter in weight then almost any 1.25" binoviewer on the market. The best thing is its price. At $800 you are in the lower premium price range. The Baader compared above although not matching it's CA/OP specs is over $1600 new or double the price. So this makes the Siebert VP unique in it's or any price range. Do I think you will like it? The specs no doubt. The pictures will show that although having all the features commonly associated with compensation free IPD adjustment style binoviewers that are the standard in terms of ease of use. The Appearance will be a departure from the norm. This was certainly true of the Black Knight Echelon and Elite series although they held to the traditional basic shape of today's binoviewer. But a lot considerations were juggled to make these the biggest CA and the lightest binos on the market. So no extra housings are superimposed to give it the look of symmetry. That has been dropped from these in favor of what will likly be to "some" more important considerations. This does not mean they will not be attractive. By no means. A lot of cosmetic touches are being added to these to give them a beauty all their own. The T-6 Aluminum and black Delrin composite are very tastefully done to make these binoviewers an attractive novelty. As with all my Binoviewer products they will have 60 day money back guarantee. More to come in a month. Keep an eye out for pictures. You may reserve one and will not be billed until shipping time. Clear Skies.
